The Joy Of Moving

The other day Coach Kawamura recommended a book. It was Karada wa, Watashi wo Utsusu Mazakai dearu written by Harunori Kono.

Lately the buzzword between myself and Coach Kawamura has been Ma. (meaning space in time, interval or distance.)

From last year I attended a seminar held by Professor Takahashi of Biwako Seikei University and read works written by him as well. As I was experiencing personally the peculiarities of movement when I found this book and was instantly excited to see what it had to say.

This book talks about ‘The relation of caution and movement’ ‘Actual feeling’ ‘Making use of the five senses’ ‘Words and the body’ ‘Space’ and so on. There are many things the book explains that can be used in our daily lives so I highly recommend you read it!

Well, The practice running sessions we started to hold from this year have been going very well. Here is what our session on February 25th looked like.

‘Running’ is just moving your body forward but when you start to think about speed and ecology of movement it is truly a deep subject. Also after running it is so refreshing.

Recently, The world has become a very convenient place to be but on the other hand our opportunities to move have all but gone. Work used to mean physical labor but in today’s day in age it usually means sitting at a desk. However to control metabolism and blood sugar levels we exercise after work at a gym.

Setting aside which lifestyle is better it goes without saying that moving your body is in direct connection to leading a healthy lifestyle.

It’s easy to take for granted clean water, clean air, electricity and gas. Being able to move is also the same and it becomes apparent whenever we have an injury.

Like when a baby learns to walk and everyone is happy for them, we should be joyful for our ability to move our body in a healthy way. I feel value in exercising with others.

Let’s exercise together!
